They’re Not Paid To Socialize

The New York Times has a piece on why the Bush Administration is killing the DC social scene. It’s with a note of derision that the Times notes that this is the kind of administration that’s early to bed and early to rise.

Good. Government isn’t a giant frat party, much to chagrin of many in the Washington press corps, it’s about getting things done. After the Clinton years where the nation partied while threats gathered on the horizon, it’s rather comforting to know that the grownups are in charge once again.
