The Washington Times is reporting that many Iraqi soldiers are getting their white flags at the ready. Chances are, all the talk of massive urban warfare is just that – talk. A few hardline Republican Guard units might dig in for a fight, but our combination of absolute air superiority and precision weapons will make that fight a short, if fierce one.
The fact remains that the Iraqis don’t particularly care to live under the bootheel of Saddam Hussein any more than the Afghanis wanted to live under the Taliban. History will not remember this looming conflict of one of US imperialism or greed, but a war of liberation that will fundamentally reshape the Arab world for the better.
