More EU Hot Air

It appears as though the EU won’t be able to meet its emissions targets under the Kyoto Protocol as overall emissions rose by 1% this year over last.

The EU is quickly realizing that a strong economy and Kyoto’s emissions limitations are almost entirely incompatible. While environmental activists say that it is possible to meet the Kyoto limits, it would mean scaling back transportation of goods and generally raising prices across the board – something that can’t be done in an already high-tax high-cost Europe.
