The burial box that supposedly contained the name of Jesus has been ruled to have had its inscription altered in modern times, meaning the the ossuary did not originally make reference to Jesus. The box had caused a small media storm when it was first unveiled, as it could have been historical evidence of the existence of a brother to Jesus.
Israeli scientists have confirmed that ossuary itself was a genuine artifact from the time of Jesus, but it likely had no connection to the actual figure of Jesus.
