I was going to blog on Orrin Hatch’s remarkably stupid idea that copyright holders should be able to attack the computers of people who share files, but Begging to Differ already has a great compendium of links to various takedowns of the idiotic idea. (Hasn’t Sen. Hatch ever heard of a little thing called property rights and due process?)

In the spirit of the Framers, I’m tempted to endorse a more traditional remedy: twice warning a politician about threatening people’s rights and property, and then running him out of town on a rail. That’s one, Orrin.
