Instapundit has more on Dick Gephardt’s putting his foot in his mouth by saying that he’d use an executive order to overturn the Supreme Court (in violation of the whole separation of powers doctrine).
Gephardt’s excuse is a classic model of spin over substance, and it looks like this issue won’t go away. 2004 will be an interesting election, ensuring that any politician on any side of the political spectrum that says something inexplicable or stupid is going to be hearing about it again.
Unless you’re already in the White House, of course.
