Beware Of Spammers

Winds of Change points out that there’s been a rash of porn-site comment spammers across the blogosphere. So far I’ve already had to remove one of these spam comments, but I’m sure there will be more.

I’m banning the IPs of these porn spammers, which are spread throught a series of rooted boxes at random sites on the Internet. This shouldn’t effect normal commenters unless it’s their machines that are compromised – and the chances of that are pretty small.

In the meantime, please notify me through e-mail or leaving comments if you see any more comment spamming.

Also, for the love of God, keep your machines patched and up to date. If you have to run Windows, make sure that you have the latest patches. If you’re a Mac or Linux user, good for you, but don’t skimp on the patches either.

In a few days I’ll be adding patches to the server that will block spam comments from popping up. Until then, be on the lookout for these spam messages.
