Happy ANZAC Day to those Down Under, especially the Aussie and Kiwi troops currently serving in Iraq. Also, read Governor-General Michael Jeffery’s brillant ANZAC Day speech. He tells us that one of the reasons we’re fighting in places like Iraq is to uphold “an absolute conviction that true democratic freedom must be nurtured and protected at all times, and – when threatened by evil including the scourge of global terrorism – is worth fighting for and, if necessary, dying.”
Indeed, when it comes to the defense of freedom worldwide, those in need have no greater ally than the people of Australia and New Zealand who still today are fighting for freedom in the Middle East.
