Arthur Chrenkoff has another dispatch of stories from Iraq that remain buried in the flood of misleading reporting. The Iraqis will obtain sovereignty in just a matter of days, and already they are preparing for a new future. As always, Iraqi Kurdistan remains an island of peace and stability. Order is being returned to Baghdad, and the Iraqi people are finding freedom of expression everywhere.
The situation in Iraq isn’t great, but it isn’t a quagmire, and the Iraqi people do not deserve to be thrown back into tyranny. The US and the other members of the coalition will continue to do what they have done from the beginning: lay the groundwork for a free, democratic, and prosperous Iraq.
