Trent Lott seems to be cheerfully shooting himself in the foot lately, first by blabbing about how we’d all be better off by having voted against civil rights and by blocking former Sen. Warren Rudman from the 9/11 investigations panel. (Rudman coauthored an influential report on terrorism and domestic security with Sen. Gary Hart before Sept. 11). Both decisions are absolutely mind-bloggingly stupid.
It has to be asked – what the hell is Trent Lott thinking?
