Snow In December

It looks like Bush will name CSX CEO John W. Snow as the replacement for Paul O’Neill as Secretary of the Treasury. Snow has experience as the deputy undersecretary of the Transportation Department under President Ford as well as experience as being the CEO of one of America’s top rail freight companies. Moreover, he has experience in lobbying members of Congress from his position as a chairman of the Business Rountable.

Snow brings qualities to the job that O’Neill lacks. Snow is known as being an effective lobbyist and spokesman; someone who can get the Bush message across better than O’Neill. Hopefully this will mean that the Bush Administration is finally going to start really hammering away on the economic issues that are currently one of the Administration’s biggest weaknesses in terms of both politics and policy.
