French authorities have managed to prevent a biological or chemical attack on Paris. The three men have been tied to al-Qaeda in both Afghanistan and Chechnya. It is believed that they were planning to release the agents somewhere in Paris around Christmas.
Perhaps this will be a wake-up call to the French that trying to curry favor with the Islamists will lead them nowhere. The radical Islamic movement’s stated goal is the worldwide imposition of shari’a and they will not take no for an answer. Assuming that not fully joining the US-led war on terrorism will shield Europe from further attacks is simply not true. Either we can all fight together or the US can fight alone, but all of the Western world is a target regardless of which path is chosen.
